Deadly accident closes westbound I-4 by Plant City.
A tragic accident on Interstate 4 near Plant City claimed the life of a man from Apopka after he experienced a medical issue and lost control of his Kia SUV, causing the vehicle to become airborne and crash. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the driver, a 54-year-old man, was traveling westbound on I-4 when the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. The vehicle veered into the median, hit a guardrail, crossed the highway, struck an embankment, overturned, and ended up in a tree line. Unfortunately, he passed away at a nearby hospital as a result of the crash.
