Dashcam video released in deadly Appleton dump truck accident
APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) -- WFRV has obtained dashcam footage of the horrific accident in Appleton that led to the death of a driver on June 18. The video, posted above, shows a heavy-duty wrecker speeding through an intersection from an off-ramp, taking a curve too fast, and driving over a divider. The attached dump truck detaches, rolls over, and smashes a stationary car in the other lane. After the accident, first responders made it to the scene and attempted to help the driver of the pinned vehicle. However, the driver succumbed to their injuries on the scene. The Appleton Police Department is currently investigating the crash. WFRV will update this story as necessary.
