Crash shuts down all southbound lanes of I-95 in Stafford County

A crash has shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Stafford County early Friday morning, causing major traffic delays in the area. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation ( VDOT ), the crash happened near mile marker 146, about two miles south of Exit 148 for Quantico . VDOT said the closure is expected to last for an extended period of time on Friday morning. Travelers heading south are asked to take alternate routes to avoid delays. Commuters can take Route 301 to the east or Route 29 to the west as possible detours around the I-95 corridor. It's not clear if any injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
