Crash on Capital Beltway in Montgomery County leads to fuel spill
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Fire trucks blocked several lanes on Interstate 495 West in Montgomery County following a crash on Wednesday morning. The events that led up to the crash remain limited; however, the collision took place near Exit 33 on the outer loop of the Capital Beltway. Pete Piringer with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said the crash involved a fuel supply truck, and some fuel leaked onto the highway. On Wednesday morning, traffic was at a standstill, and it was backed up for more than two miles. It is unclear if any injuries were reported. This is a developing story.
