Crash forces road closure in Des Moines; 2 people hospitalized
Traffic on SW 9th Street in Des Moines came to a halt Tuesday afternoon due to a crash.According to Des Moines police, a two-vehicle crash was reported around noon Tuesday at SW 9th Street and Pleasant View Drive. All northbound and southbound lanes had to be shut down while crews responded to the scene."The Des Moines Police Department Traffic Unit is responding to investigate potential driver impairment," Des Moines police said.Two people were taken to nearby hospitals, according to police. Their injuries are not life-threatening and are believed to be minor.Police expect the roadway to be clear by about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
