Crash closes I-290 near Niagara Falls Boulevard
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A stretch of Route 62 in Tonawanda is closed in both directions due to a multi-car accident Thursday afternoon. Route 62 North was reported closed from Koenig Road to I-290 in Tonawanda at 1:23 p.m. Route 62 South is also closed from I-290 to Koenig Road in Amherst. Due to the shutdown the I-290 East ramp is closed and all southbound traffic north of the I-290 is being forced to take the 290 West. Officials said the closure will be in place for the next several hours and the crash is under investigation. Tonawanda police ask anyone with additional information about the accident to contact the department at 716-879-6614 or their confidential tip line at 716-879-6606.
