Crash closes I-24 W near Exit 40, traffic diverted onto Old Hickory Boulevard
One person was killed and at least two others hurt during a crash on Memorial Day in Nashville. The multi-car crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near exit 40 on I-24 W. Metro Nashville Emergency Communications confirmed that one person was killed during the crash. Two other people were taken from the scene for treatment. Part of I-24 W was closed for several hours overnight as first responders worked to clear the crash. Lanes began to reopen just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.
