Couple frustrated as car crashes into their house

A couple in Brighton Heights woke up to find their home damaged after a car crashed into their front porch early Saturday morning. Monique Osburn and her husband were startled awake around 2:30 a.m. when their house shook. Osburn was surprised to find a woman's car had driven into the front of their house. The driver appeared to be impaired, speaking incoherently and showing signs of confusion. Despite the couple's request for a field sobriety test, the police officers at the scene did not oblige, only treating the incident as a crash. Additionally, a witness to the crash was not interviewed by the officers. The couple is now dealing with a condemned porch and frustration over what they perceive as a lack of enforcement of DUI laws. They expressed disappointment in the justice system for not holding the driver accountable for the damage caused. Pittsburgh's Action News 4 contacted Pittsburgh Public Safety regarding the situation, inquiring about the sobriety test and witness statement. A public safety spokesperson acknowledged the inquiry and mentioned that they are investigating the matter.
