Couple dies after head-on crash in Dartmouth; driver facing charges
A couple in their 70s died after a head-on crash Saturday in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn, III announced that Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office along with Dartmouth Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred earlier today in Dartmouth.A sports utility vehicle operated by Philip Morris, 63, of Dartmouth; collided with a sedan being driving by Jeffrey Moniz, 76, and occupied by his wife, Diane Moniz, 76 both of Westport; just before 10:30 a.m. to 422 Old Westport Road.Police said Morris' vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck the sedan head on. Jeffrey and Diane Moniz were taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. Morris, who had minor injuries, was charged and will be summonsed to court for, two counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and a marked lanes violation.
