County police probe two crashes

Over the weekend, deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff's Department responded to and investigated two separate accidents. The first incident occurred on Friday afternoon around 3:30 PM, involving two vehicles on U.S. 6 near Tamarack Road. The vehicles were a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Amanda Bradfield and a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Jaqueline Hart. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although the eastbound lanes of U.S. 6 had to be briefly closed for clean-up. Emergency response units including the Sheriff's Department, Walkerton Police, and Polk Fire were on-site. The second accident took place on Sunday morning at approximately 10:30 AM, where a single motorcycle collision was reported on Plymouth LaPorte Trail near 3B Road. The injured individual, Dwayne Perez, 39, was taken to the hospital for treatment, with no signs of alcohol or drug involvement. Again, Walkerton Police, Polk Fire, and Walkerton EMS provided support to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.
