Coroner: Man had medical event prior to deadly rollover crash in Anderson Co.
ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- Investigators believe a medical event may have contributed to a fatal crash that occurred in Iva on Wednesday. The Anderson County Coroner's Office reported Anderson County 911 was called around 5:15 p.m. about a crash that occurred at the 3900 block of Trail Road. At the scene, emergency personnel found 85-year-old Larry R. Trumbell in the road near the wreck. He was pronounced dead by officials. According to authorities, Trumbell was driving on Trail Road near J R Ashley Road when he went off the right side of the road. The car then struck a small embankment before rolling several times. Trumbell was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car in the crash. The coroner's office said Trumbell possibly experienced a medical event prior to the incident. He died from blunt force injuries and his death was ruled accidental. South Carolina Highway Patrol has not shared their crash report at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
