(WOWK) — A benefit is set for next weekend to help a young man from Ripley who was seriously injured in a farming accident. Riley Knotts, 21, of Ripley, was working on a farm in Roane County on March 19 when he was pinned between the bucket of a skid steer. He was rushed to the hospital in Charleston where he is undergoing treatment. His family and friends continue to hold vigil for him there. On Sunday, March 29, a benefit for the young man, who is well-known in his community, will take place in Ripley at the Parchment Valley Conference Center. Church service begins at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. is singing — as Knotts is a part of many bands — and 3 p.m. is a benefit auction. A hog roast will also take place, and people are welcome to bring a covered dish. Donations for the benefit auction can be brought to the Frugal Frog in Ripley. All of the money raised goes toward helping Knotts in his recovery. Anyone with questions is asked to call John at 304-531-7134 or Garrett at 304-377-2868.
