CHP seeks assistance in deadly East Bay crash investigation involving Fiat, Mercedes-Benz
(KRON) -- The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is asking for the public's assistance in an investigation of a deadly crash over the weekend in El Cerrito. Around 6:11 p.m. on May 24, officers responded to a rollover crash that involved a black Fiat and a white Mercedes-Benz. The crash happened in the area of I-80 westbound at Potrero Avenue. Drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, CHP said. However, the right front passenger of the Fiat was killed after the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no details have been released about the circumstances leading up to the crash.
