Child on bike dies in North Carolina multi-vehicle collision - authorities
A tragic incident occurred in Holly Springs, N.C., where a child was fatally struck by a car while riding a bike early Sunday morning. The Holly Springs Police Department reported that the collision involved a 2008 Honda Civic, a 2021 Honda Passport, and the young cyclist on Avent Ferry Road near Holly Meadow Drive. While the individuals in the vehicles sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital, the juvenile cyclist lost their life at the scene. Following the incident, Avent Ferry Road was closed for a significant period of time as authorities conducted their investigation, but has since reopened.
