
Chicago police report man hurt in shooting and car accident in East Garfield Park
In the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, a 56-year-old man was both shot and involved in a car accident early Wednesday morning, as reported by the local police. This incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. in the 3800 block of West Harrison when two men, one of whom was armed, approached the man while he was inside a car. A shot was fired by one of the men at the victim, who then drove away but ended up crashing into a light pole. When paramedics arrived, they discovered that the man had suffered a gunshot wound to his neck. The two suspects escaped from the scene. The man is currently in critical condition and has been taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital. At present, no suspects are in custody, and an investigation is being conducted by Area Four detectives.
