Charges for driver in deadly crash with Anthony Joshua

According to the Associated Press, the driver involved in the car crash that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in Nigeria on Monday, as well as injuring boxer Anthony Joshua, will be facing charges. Adenyi Mobalaji Kayode has been accused of reckless and dangerous driving leading to death, driving without a valid license, and driving without due care causing harm and property damage. The incident occurred in Lagos, and Kayode was brought to court on Friday. The Federal Road Safety Corps suggested that speed was a factor in the crash, with the SUV carrying Joshua reportedly losing control and colliding with a parked truck. Joshua and Kayode sustained minor injuries, while two members of Joshua's team lost their lives in the accident. Joshua received treatment at a local hospital and was discharged on Wednesday. The boxer was in Nigeria to visit his parents when the accident occurred. Nigerian president Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his condolences to Joshua and empathized with the loss of his associates. Jake Paul, who recently fought Joshua, also shared a message on social media, emphasizing the importance of life over sports and offering his sympathies to those affected by the tragic event.
