Car plows into several vehicles at busy Houston intersection

If there was a WWE title belt for Houston street drama (which there should be) an incident that took place this week in the west side of the city should probably be champion for several months. Multiple videos from multiple angles are circulating on social media showing one of the wildest vehicular incidents in some time, taking place Friday at the intersection of Harwin Drive and Hillcroft Avenue, smack in the middle of Houston's Mahatma Gandhi District. First video In a TikTok video by @reddraww29, a gray SUV is seen behind a pretty gnarly car accident on the westbound lanes of Harwin in front of Justin, the large women's clothing store at 5711 Hillcroft. There's a silver compact car in bad shape, its front driver's side tire possibly dislodged. There's a red car behind it with its driver's side door completely mangled. Two men, likely the drivers of said cars, are chatting in between them. Another larger car, probably a minivan, has also been hit. The driver of the SUV tries to jam out of the mess but then hits the gas, plowing into the already victimized cars as smoke begins rising from the scene. "What is wrong?" asks someone in the video. The car then backs up at a speed that's not 5 mph, not stopping as it approaches a car ... a police car. "The police!" The truck slams right into the police vehicle as everyone around the scene chats away. "B---h you going to jail," says our trusty person in the video. But then the SUV picks right back up going forward, leaving the police car's hood in terrible shape as smoke rises from it. And not only does the SUV go forward, but it goes forward fast. The camera picks up the SUV now in the eastbound lanes trying to make a run for it ... only it slams into the silver car that was already hit. "Ooh!" screams someone in the video. It gets worse. The SUV continues driving through the intersection, which was a red light by the way, and right into all the cars waiting at the intersection. The SUV plows into the driver's side of another SUV as it comes to a stop. Second video For those wanting even more, TikTok user @ruddykim7muy502 captured a video from the other side of Hillcroft, as in the place the SUV ultimately collided with cars at a stop. The video captures the aftermath of the original accident across the street, then zooms out showing the rear end of another car, this one blue, in shambles. Then the camera turns to reveal a man being apprehended by Houston police. It also shows another blue car down for the count, meaning this individual seems to have struck at least seven vehicles. Afterwards, there's screaming, cursing, and a child seated on the ground being consolled by adults. The Houston Police Department did not immediately respond to Chron's request for more information about this incident.
