Car crashes into Pittsylvania County home, two dead bodies found inside: Deputies
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) - Investigators are on scene at a Pittsylvania County home after a car crash into the residence revealed two people inside were shot dead, according to deputies. At about 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, first responders received a call reporting a car crash in the 12000 block of East Gretna Road in Gretna. After they arrived, first responders said they found a single vehicle that had crashed into a house. Upon entering the house, however, emergency workers reportedly discovered "suspicious circumstances" and immediately notified law enforcement. Deputies and investigators said they found two dead people inside the house: one white male, 34, and and one white female, 35. Authorities determined both were residents of the home. Investigators observed that both victims appeared to have been shot, according to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office. The identities of those deceased are currently being withheld until their families are notified, authorities said. Pittsylvania County deputies are still at the scene and conducting an investigation. Both bodies are being transported to the Roanoke Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities say more information will be released. Stay with WFXR for updates.
