Buggy driver severely hurt in crash in Elkhart County
A buggy driver was airlifted to the hospital after a crash in Elkhart County on Thursday. It happened on State Road 13, north of County Road 34, just after 2:00 p.m. According to investigators, the driver of a Ram truck didn't see the buggy in front of him until he was too close to stop. Deputies say he tried to avoid the buggy, but an oncoming vehicle kept him from leaving the lane. The buggy’s occupant was airlifted to Memorial Hospital with severe head trauma. The driver of the truck was cited for improper passing.
