Boat mishap recorded in Antioch, IL race.
A boater was injured during a boat race at Grass Lake in suburban Antioch, Illinois on Thursday, as captured in videos. The area is famous for its weekly drag boat racing events on Thursday nights. Prior to the incident, it seems the boat experienced a malfunction, causing the boater to be thrown into the water. An unoccupied boat then caught fire. Blarney Island rescue teams quickly intervened, retrieving the boater from the water. Emergency medical services administered life-saving care before the individual was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center by the Antioch Fire Department, where his condition was stabilized.
