Banning Car Accident at North 8th Street and West George Street

BANNING, Calif. (April 29, 2025) -- A two-vehicle car accident happened Sunday afternoon in Banning on North 8th Street at West George Street. The injury collision occurred around 3 p.m. on April 27th, according to an article in the Beaumont News Source. Traffic Collision in Banning on North 8th Street The drivers of a white Nissan and a white Toyota Camry collided at the intersection when one of the vehicles apparently failed to yield the right-of-way to the other motorist. The Toyota went off the roadway onto a sidewalk and came to rest on top of a short block wall in the front yard of a home. Both vehicles had major front-end damage and the Toyota has had rear damage. Paramedics responded and treated at least one person on the scene for unknown injuries, the report said. It's unknown if anyone was taken to a hospital at this time. Witnesses told authorities that speed was also a contributing factor. The Banning Police Department closed down North 8th Street between West George Street and West Nicolet Street due to the crash.
