Authorities confirm identities of four victims in Tampa crash
Authorities have named the four victims who tragically lost their lives when a vehicle crashed into a crowd in Tampa's Ybor City neighborhood over the weekend. The victims have been identified as Christina Maria Richards, Lisa Sherell Johnson, Sherman Jones, and Marlon Anthony Collins. The driver, Silas Sampson, was attempting to evade a traffic stop by Tampa police due to alleged reckless driving. The car entered the neighborhood after an unsuccessful attempt to immobilize it, and then struck another vehicle and pedestrians on the sidewalk. Sampson was detained and charged with several offenses, including vehicular homicide. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw described the incident as a "senseless tragedy" and emphasized the commitment to seeking justice for the victims and their families.
