At least one dead after Highway 89 crash in Tahoe area, officials say
At least one person is dead after a Friday morning crash along Highway 89 in the Tahoe area, the California Highway Patrol Truckee division said.The crash along the highway happened south of Olympic Valley Road, and Caltrans said there is one-way traffic control for southbound lanes from Olympic Valley Road to 5 miles south of Truckee while crews work to clear the scene.CHP traffic logs show the crash was reported around 6:50 a.m. A SigAlert is also in effect, which CHP issues when extended road closures or delays are expected. There is no estimated of reopening.Details on what caused the crash and how many people were involved were not released, only that this crash was fatal.See road conditions here.See news happening?
