Arrest made for DUI manslaughter a year after fatal I-95 crash caused by wrong-way driver

A 21-year-old driver named Lucas Morena has finally been arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol nearly a year after causing a fatal crash on Interstate 95. Morena was charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide for the incident that took the life of 81-year-old Linton Kelly. The investigation revealed the presence of various substances in Morena's system, including Delta-9 THC, ketamine, fentanyl, and midazolam. The collision occurred on Nov. 28, 2024, at 3:34 a.m. when Morena was driving the wrong way on I-95 and collided with Kelly's oncoming vehicle. Unfortunately, Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force injuries. Morena, who demonstrated signs of impairment and alcohol consumption, is currently in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail.
