Arrest made after fatal wrong-way crash in Howell County
A man from Marionville, identified as Jason Morgan, was taken into custody following a tragic head-on collision just south of Pomona in Howell County. The crash involving two Ford trucks occurred early Thursday morning after reports of a vehicle driving the wrong way on northbound U.S. Highway 63. Tragically, a 48-year-old man lost his life in the collision, while Morgan fled the scene but was later apprehended by law enforcement. Morgan admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the incident, and a breath test revealed his BAC to be over the legal limit. He now faces charges for driving while intoxicated and leaving the accident scene resulting in death. This marks the 35th fatality in the region for the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G this year.
