Arkansas man dies in tragic Louisiana highway accident
NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. - Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a tragic single-vehicle accident on Louisiana Highway 174 late in the evening on January 14, 2026, resulting in the loss of Patrick T. Funderburk, a 50-year-old resident of Conway, Arkansas. The investigation determined that Funderburk, who was driving a 2006 Toyota 4-Runner, was traveling west on Louisiana Highway 174 when the vehicle veered off the road, rolled over after going down the ditch embankment, and subsequently caught fire. It is currently unclear whether Funderburk was wearing a seatbelt. Routine toxicology testing is being conducted for further insights. Louisiana State Police are reminding all drivers to maintain vigilance while on the road, emphasizing the critical importance of staying attentive to prevent tragic accidents.
