Amazon semi-truck crashes off SR 599 in Tukwila, hits light rail tracks above

An Amazon semi-truck crashed off the southbound lanes of Highway 599 in Tukwila just after midnight, striking the light rail tracks above the road. Video from a Washington State Department of Transportation camera earlier in the morning showed the response to the crash just north of S 133rd St. At one point, someone was seen on a ladder trying to work on the truck. The Washington State Patrol has not yet released information about what caused the crash. It was not immediately clear whether anyone was hurt, whether the truck was carrying Amazon packages, or how long it would take to clear the scene. The crash blocked the two right lanes. First, the cab was towed from the scene, then two heavy-duty wrecker trucks removed the trailer. Traffic was slowed back to East Marginal Way. Sound Transit officials said an inspection found no damage to the guideway and Link light rail service. was not affected.
