Alleged drunk driver injures 2 in head-on collision, drives through fence in Tampa: deputies

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Deputies arrested a suspected drunk driver Tuesday night after they said he caused a crash that sent two people to the hospital. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Turner Road in Tampa at 11:42 p.m. Deputies said Kelly Castleman, 30, rear-ended a sedan, causing it to crash into an SUV head-on. Castleman's vehicle then continued north before crashing into a fence and stopping in the backyard of a nearby home, before he left the scene on foot. Both drivers of the two involved vehicles were taken to the hospital, the driver of the SUV with serious injuries, and the driver of the sedan in critical condition. HCSO Accident Investigators, Drone Team, and K-9 Unit responded to search for Castleman and found him at his apartment one mile away from the scene. Castleman was taken into custody and provided breath samples of .287/.283, deputies said. He was arrested on the following charges:
