All charges dropped in crash that killed a Forsyth County deputy
Prosecutors have dropped all charges against the suspect involved in a crash that involved a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Deputy. The deputy died as a result.According to new court documents, prosecutors have dropped all charges against the man previously arrested back in March, following the fatal crash at the intersection of Grubbs Road and Highway 311 on March 7.His original charges included: second-degree murder misdemeanor death by vehicle drive left of center reckless driving speeding On April 20, Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill announced that prosecutors would drop second-degree murder, misdemeanor death by vehicle, and drive left of center charges against the man. According to O'Neil, the charges were being dismissed in light of new evidence that showed Deputy Mitchell crossed into the defendant's lane seconds before the collision.Then on Wednesday, a dismissal notice was signed by prosecutors for all of the defendant's charges.TRENDING
