AFR investigating vehicle fire on I-25
Fire officials are currently investigating a vehicle fire and crash that happened on I-25 earlier today.On June 30, around 5:30 pm, AFR was dispatched to I-25 Avenida Cesar Chavez for reports of a multi vehicle collision and vehicle on fire. When units arrived at the scene, they located a small jeep heavily involved in flames. There were a total of four vehicles involved in the incident. The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of AFR's arrival. One person was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. 3 additional individuals were transported for minor injuries. 2 individuals were treated on scene but declined transport. No firefighters were injured.NMDOT is now assisting with cleanup of the incident. I-25 is now back open. No additional information is currently available.
