Accident on I-85 North in west Charlotte injures 1 person and partially closes road
A recent tractor-trailer collision on I-85 North by Tuckaseegee Road led to extensive traffic backups due to the vehicle veering into the median, potentially hitting the support beams beneath an overpass. The incident occurred at approximately 8:54 a.m. near Mile Marker 35 and resulted in one person sustaining minor injuries, as per initial reports from Medic. A North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) traffic camera displayed the truck off the road near the bridge supports. Authorities have not yet determined if there was any damage to the structure. Following the crash, one of the four northbound lanes was closed near Exit 34, Tuckaseegee Road, leading to significant congestion in the area.
