Accident near Palestine, Forrest City blocks traffic
A multi-vehicle accident 3.6 miles west of Palestine on Interstate 40 has been reported. All traffic is being diverted at the 239 exit. The mile marker location is 228.8. It is unclear how severe the crash was, but according to IDriveArkansas on X, it is an accident with injuries. KATV spoke with a representative from the Arkansas State Police who confirmed two tractor-trailers were involved in an accident at around 3:30 Monday morning. They stated the vehicles were completely engulfed in flames, but the fires have since been put out. Check back later for more details. KATV will provide new information as it becomes available.
