95-year-old woman killed in multi-vehicle Irvine crash

A 95-year-old woman was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Irvine Tuesday. Irvine police were called to the intersection of Irvine Center Drive and Valley Oak Drive around 9:12 a.m. Investigators said the 95-year-old woman was driving a Toyota RAV4 when she entered the intersection on a red light. Two other vehicles, a Dodge Ram and a Tesla Model 3, were crossing the road on a green light. The woman crashed into the Dodge and the maneuver pushed the truck into the Tesla. The elderly woman was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. The other drivers involved were not injured, police said. Video from the scene showed officers cordoning off the intersection near the Oak Creek Golf Club area. The woman’s name will not be released until her family is notified, police said. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Detective David Juarez at 949-724-7047.
