67-year-old killed in motorcycle crash on Lemay Ferry Road
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - South County Precinct officers from the St. Louis County Police Department (SLCPD) are investigating a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of one person earlier this week on Lemay Ferry Road. Officials say they responded to the 5200 block of Lemay Ferry Road around 7:19 p.m. after receiving calls of service regarding a single motor vehicle crash. When officers arrived at the scene, they located the motorcyclist, a 67-year-old man, who had sustained life-threatening injuries. EMS transported the man to the hospital for medical treatment, but he died from his injuries. The motorcyclist has now been identified as Stephen Rausch, of Arnold, Missouri. Preliminary investigation into the crash revealed that Rausch was riding southbound on Lemay Ferry Road when his motorcycle was struck. Investigators say the 67-year-old lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle. A spokesperson with SLCPD says officials will share additional information regarding the fatal accident when it becomes available, pending investigation.
