58-year-old man dies after wrong-way crash with pickup truck
A 58-year-old man died after a head-on crash with another vehicle early Saturday morning. At around 12:30 a.m., deputies with the Kent County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) responded to Algoma Avenue Northeast, south of 15 Mile Road for a head-on crash with two vehicles. Local : Nine rescued on Lake Michigan after boat loses power during severe thunderstorm A preliminary investigation indicates a 58-year-old Algoma Township man was traveling in the wrong lane when his SUV collided with a pickup truck, drive by a 19-year-old Hastings man, KCSO said in a release. The 58 year old was trapped in his vehicle, and had to be removed by emergency responders. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The 19 year old and his five passengers were transported to area hospitals, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
