4 people injured in boating mishap at Lake Belton

On the night of May 31, 2025, Morgan’s Point Resort Fire-Rescue responded to a potential boating accident on Lake Belton after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting cries for help coming from an island near the Morgan’s Point Resort Marina. Upon investigation, they found a boat that had run aground with four individuals on board, one of whom had a head injury from the collision. Emergency responders were on hand to offer medical assistance, and the incident is now under investigation by Temple AMR and Texas Game Wardens. It was discovered that the boat's malfunctioning bow light led to the collision as the operator had to rely on flashlights for navigation. This serves as a reminder for boaters to prioritize safety measures, especially in low-visibility conditions. Ensure all necessary equipment, such as lighting and flotation devices, are in working order before setting out on the water.
