36-year-old dies after motorcycle crash on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County: VSP

Virginia State Police (VSP) said a 36-year-old died after a crash in Botetourt County. VSP said they are investigating a two-vehicle crash which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred on Tuesday at 6:07 p.m. on Interstate 81, one half mile south of Brughes Mill Road in Botetourt County. According to VSP, a 1994 Harley Davidson was traveling north on Interstate 81, weaving in and out of traffic and driving between vehicles when the motorcycle hit a 2002 Honda pick-up truck in the rear. SEE ALSO: Gunshot detection devices to be removed in City of Roanoke this week following concerns VSP said the 36-year-old operator of the motorcycle was identified as Andrew David Lee Camp, of Callaway. Camp was wearing his helmet and died at the scene. The driver of the Honda was not injured, according to VSP. The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team was called to help with the crash and no charges are pending, VSP said. The crash remains under investigation, according to VSP.
