3 killed, 1 injured in crash on Crain Highway in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Three people are dead and one person was seriously hurt following a crash on Route 301 (Crain Highway) early Sunday morning, according to officials. Maryland State Police said troopers responded to the intersection of Crain Highway and Governor's Park Lane in the Upper Marlboro area shortly before 12:45 a.m. on July 12. According to state police, an initial investigation found that a Tesla Model 3 was trying to make a left turn from Crain Highway onto Governor's Park Lane when it failed to yield the right of way to a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling south. Police said the Harley then struck the side of the Tesla, leaving the bike's driver and passenger dead. A passenger who was in the backseat of the Tesla also died at the scene. Responders transported the Tesla driver to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, officials noted. MSP is leading the investigation. At this time, officials have not released the names of those who died.
