28-year-old man killed in Elwood motorcycle crash

ELWOOD, Ind. — Indiana State Police are investigating after a Memorial Day motorcycle crash in Madison County claimed the life of a 28-year-old man. ISP troopers were called around 10 p.m. Monday to the intersection of IN-37 and IN-128 just south of Elwood on report of a crash. Upon arrival, they found a crash involving a white 2015 GMC Sierra and a blue 2006 Suzuki C50 motorcycle. A preliminary investigation shows that the GMC was being driven by a 20-year-old and traveling north on State Road 37 when the crash occurred. Police believe that, for an unknown reason, the motorcycle failed to stop at a sign on State Road 128 and collided with the side of the truck. The motorcycle was being driven by Noah Alberts of Anderson. The 28-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison County Coroner's Office. His family has since been notified. ISP said that Alberts was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No other information was immediately provided. State Police thanked the Elwood Police Department, Frankton Police Department, Madison County Sheriff's Department, Madison County Emergency Management Agency, Elwood Fire Department, Pine Creek Fire Department, Lafayette Township Fire Department, Frankton Ambulance, White River Ambulance and the Madison County Coroner for their assistance at the scene.
