27-year-old Las Vegas woman dies after car crash on highway ramp
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 27-year-old woman crashed her vehicle on a highway ramp and died, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The incident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 1, around 12:14 a.m. on the southbound I-15 to I-215 east ramp, east of the I-215 south to Las Vegas Boulevard (State Route 604) ramp. Chloe Marie Pineda, from Las Vegas, was traveling southbound on I-15 in a white 2015 Volkswagen Jetta, failing to drive within the marked lanes. Pineda then drove off the roadway and crashed into a concrete pole support before hitting a concrete bridge pier barrier. Pineda was sent to a local hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead on Friday, Feb. 13. The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash. This is the 10th fatal crash the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated this year. No further information has been reported at this time.
