23-year-old dies in car accident on Maybank Highway, according to coroner
A tragic incident occurred on Wadmalaw Island where a 23-year-old man, Jonathan Marchant, lost his life in a crash after his car swerved off the road and hit a tree at the intersection of Maybank Highway and Oak Grove Road. Authorities from the Charleston County Coroner's Office confirmed Marchant's death at the scene around 1:15 a.m. No other occupants were in the vehicle during the accident. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputies are currently investigating the details of the collision.
