2 people die, 1 seriously injured after crash on Oregon highway

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – On Saturday evening, Oregon State Police responded to a crash in Linn County on Highway 34. The crash involved two cars, a gray Hyundai Elantra and a blue BMW 32L. The driver of the Hyundai, Rebecca Estelle Fonseca, 55, of Sweet Home, was traveling westbound on Highway 34th when the car hydroplaned and crossed into the eastbound lane. This resulted in a head-on collision with the blue BMW 32L near milepost 14. The BMW driver, Ashley Sue Fraley, 31, of Lebanon, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Hyundai, Kayla Marie Fonseca, 35, of Sweet Home, was also pronounced dead at the scene. Rebecca, the driver of the Hyundai, was seriously injured, OSP said. The crash impacted the highway for about four hours as authorities investigated the scene.
