2 injured, 1 arrested in rollover crash in Clovis: PD
CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman was sent to the hospital, and a man was arrested after a solo vehicle crash in Clovis Friday evening, police say. According to officials, at around 5:45 p.m. on Friday, 61-year-old Albert Rodriguez was driving eastbound on Shaw Avenue near Locan Avenue, when for reasons unknown, his car left the roadway, hit a fence, and rolled over multiple times into a field. Both Rodriguez and the female passenger were rescued from the vehicle by the fire department and were transported to the hospital. Officials say the female passenger sustained moderate injuries, and Rodriguez sustained minor injuries. Rodriguez was believed to have been under the influence at the time and was arrested for felony DUI. The collision knocked out signal controls for the intersection of Shaw and Locan Avenues, and the City of Clovis is on scene repairing them. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area and to expect delays. This is an ongoing investigation.
