19-year-old motorcyclist killed after hitting cable rail near Aspen Park
DENVER (KDVR) — A 19-year-old was killed on Sunday after hitting the cable rail and crashing on Highway 285, near Aspen Park. On Sunday around 7:30 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol said it responded to a single motorcycle crash on southbound Highway 285 at milepost 241. After a preliminary investigation, it said a 19-year-old riding a motorcycle hit a cable rail and was pronounced dead on the scene. The 19-year-old hasn't been identified. The Jefferson County Coroner is identifying them after the next of kin are notified. The crash shut down northbound and southbound lanes of the highway. CSP's vehicular crimes unit is leading the investigation. At this time, the cause of the crash hasn't been determined.
