15-year-old girl found with gunshot wound

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police officers found a 15-year-old girl with what they believe to be a gunshot wound after the scene because of a ShotSpotter activation. They say the accident happened at 9:55 p.m last night at the 100 block of Graves Street. When police got to the scene, they found two cars, one moving and one parked, involved in an accident. They were then approached by the 15-year-old girl, who had a wound on her leg. Police on the scene helped the teen until the ambulance arrived. She was taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Preliminary investigations led crews to believe that the girl was a passenger in the moving car when the shots were fired, appearing to have been struck during the incident. The driver of the car is an 18-year-old man who remained on the scene of the incident for interviews. Crews also learned that during the car accident, a 35-year-old man was hit by the moving car while loading items into his car. He was taken to University Hospital for evaluation. The incident is currently under investigation.
