14-year-old dies in electric motorcycle crash at Seattle bike park
Seattle police and firefighters responded Tuesday evening to a fatal electric motorcycle crash at the I-5 Colonnade Mountain Bike Skills Park in Seattle's Eastlake neighborhood. At 6:04 p.m., dispatchers received a report of a crash involving a rider at the park. According to police, a 14-year-old boy had been riding an electric motorcycle down a flight of stairs when he was injured. When firefighters and medics arrived, they found the teen with severe head and body injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Seattle police said the teen was wearing a bicycle helmet at the time of the crash. After Seattle Fire completed its response, the scene was turned over to the Seattle Police Department and the King County Medical Examiner's Office. The crash remains under investigation.
