1 transported after vehicle accident ejects driver in Harrison County, investigation ongoing

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — One person was taken to the hospital following a two vehicle crash overnight in Harrison County. According to the Harrison County 911 log, the accident occurred at around 1a.m. on Saturday morning in the Wilsonburg area and crews were alerted to a possible entrapment. "Two pickup trucks traveling in the same direction toward Shinnston were involved in the incident," a press release from Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheny said. "For reasons that remain under investigation, both vehicles lost control and struck two parked vehicles along the roadway." The release goes on to say that one of the pickup truck drivers was ejected from the vehicle after it overturned. They sustained "serious injures" and was transported by aeromedical for further treatment. The Harrison County 911 states that the road was closed for a time while an investigation was conducted. Sheriff Matheny went on to say that the crash remains under investigation. The Reynoldsville, Nutter Fort, and Spelter fire departments, along with Harrison County EMS and Sheriff's Department all responded to this incident.
