1 killed in crash on I-4 in Volusia County, FHP says

A driver was killed in a crash along Interstate 4 in Volusia County on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 1 p.m. on eastbound I-4 approaching mile marker 128, troopers said. According to an FHP crash report, a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox traveling eastbound ran off the roadway to the right, onto the outside grassy shoulder. The SUV struck a ditch and a fence, causing the vehicle to overturn several times before landing on its left side, the report states. The driver — identified as a man — was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. Further details of the driver's identity are pending word from the medical examiner's office, according to the report. FHP is still investigating.
