1 dead after pickup truck crashes into sedan in southern Idaho
BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho (ABC4) — A 70-year-old man was killed in a crash near Idaho Falls Friday evening, according to Idaho State Police. At about 7:30 p.m. May 29, a 32-year-old Bryan, Texas, man was driving a Nissan Sentra eastbound on County Line Road, north of Idaho Falls. The driver came to a stop at a stop sign before proceeding into the intersection, police said. At the same time, a Rigby, Idaho, woman, 28, was driving a Ford F-250 southbound on N 5th East Road when she reportedly crashed into the Nissan in the intersection. Three other individuals were inside the Nissan, police said. They were identified as a Salt Lake City woman, 32, and two people from India — a man, 70, and woman, 64. The 70-year-old man from India died at the scene. All other individuals in the Nissan were taken via ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Ford was not taken to the hospital, police said. "At this time seat belts are unknown for occupants of the Nissan except the deceased who was not wearing a seatbelt," a press release states. "Seatbelts are also unknown for the driver of the Ford." All lanes on County Line Road and N 5th East Road were blocked for about one hour after the crash. Authorities all lanes aside from the eastbound lanes on County Line Road, which were blocked for over four hours after the crash. This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police. No further information is available at this time.
