1 dead after car crashes into big rig on 14 Freeway in Los Angeles County
A person was killed Wednesday after their car crashed into a tractor trailer in the Newhall Pass, according to the CHP. There’s now major traffic backup going northbound on the 14 Freeway. Sky5’s Rich Prickett was over the scene at 1 p.m. He said the situation is likely to continue throughout the afternoon. The crash happened on the northbound side of the 14 Freeway, before Newhall Ave. It appears a car slammed into a big rig parked on the right shoulder. The driver of the car reportedly died at the scene. The CHP has closed two lanes, and there are traffic delays on the northbound side of the 14 and onto the 5 Freeway. Drivers are advised to give themselves extra time to get to their destinations and take alternate routes if possible. This is a developing news story. Check back for updates.
